Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon
The 44.25 mm Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon in grey ceramic on a nylon-coated fabric strap is a tribute to OMEGA’s historic legacy in space exploration. The polished and brushed plasma-treated case, along with the grey ceramic bezel featuring a laser-engraved tachymeter scale filled with white Super-LumiNova, combines durability with readability.
The skeletonized grey anodized aluminum dial reveals details reminiscent of the lunar surface, while the caseback showcases the Moon’s dark side. The chronograph includes subdials at 9 o’clock for small seconds, 3 o’clock for 30 minutes, and 6 o’clock for 12 hours; Moonwatch hands and bevelled grey indexes filled with Super-LumiNova ensure clear readability even in the dark.
The automatic Co-Axial Master Chronometer 3869 movement is laser-ablated to evoke the lunar landscape, and the caseback is engraved with the quote “THE MOON IS ESSENTIALLY GREY,” spoken by Jim Lovell during the Apollo 8 mission. The grey nylon strap with black rubber lining is completed by a ceramic folding clasp with ceramized titanium components and spring-hinged systems for maximum comfort and security.
