Montblanc Rollerball Pen Great Characters Homage to The Great Gatsby Special Edition
Some novels make literary history and, at the same time, become the symbol of an entire era. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby is a jewel of modern American literature. Published in 1925, the novel captures a fascinating snapshot of the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties, a period of unprecedented opulence and self-indulgence. Vibrant New York, opulent Long Island mansions and glitzy high-society parties provide the backdrop for the story of Jay Gatsby, a mysterious millionaire, who will stop at nothing to win back the lost love of his youth, Daisy Buchanan.
The dazzling New York of the Gatsby era, whose glittering Art Deco skyscrapers silhouetted against the blue evening sky, inspired the design of the Special Edition Great Characters Homage to The Great Gatsby. Created in homage to one of the earliest writing instruments of the Art Deco era, the surface of the body, made using a special technique, seems to reflect the tall facades of the city's booming skyscrapers lit up at night. No frills, but with a green light that shines like that of the dock at Daisy's house in The Great Gatsby, the fluorescent Montblanc emblem at the top of the cap captures and stores light during the day, then glows in the dark. The apparent power of money is represented in this edition by a platinum-finished clip in the shape of a money clip. The rounded opening is decorated with Jay Gatsby's initials in a gold-finished diamond monogram version in Art Deco style. The myth of the American dream and the elegant flask design of the Art Deco period are recalled by the cone that mimics the engraved cap of a flask and the exquisite rings that surround it, in the colors of the American flag.
