Breitling Premier B15 Duograph 42
A tribute to three generations of inventors-Léon, Gaston and Willy Breitling-the Premier Duograph reflects Breitling's watchmaking mastery with the split-second complication. As Willy Breitling said, the Premier is an “unmistakable sign of impeccable taste.” This latest generation of Premier Chronographs-the Chronograph, the Duograph, and the Datora-relaunches its timeless elegance and demonstrates Breitling's high watchmaking standard through a range of iconic Premier complications. With rectangular chronograph pushers, the look of a bi-compax chronograph, and Arabic numerals, the Premier Chronographs in homage to tradition display a variety of elegant design details such as grooves on the sides of the case, open sapphire crystal casebacks, and vintage-inspired hands. The Duograph comes in two variants: stainless steel with a blue dial and a golden brown crocodile leather strap or 18K red gold with a black dial and a black crocodile leather strap. “Duograph” was the term employed by Breitling in the 1940s in reference to a chronograph with a rattrapante function. The rattrapante function (from the French “rattraper,” meaning “to reach”) is one of the most elaborate watchmaking complications. In terms of production complexity it is on par with the tourbillon and the minute repeater. It allows two times to be measured simultaneously (intermediate and partial), which it indicates by means of two hands on the central chronograph. The Duograph is powered by Breitling's in-house hand-wound COSC-certified Caliber B15, which boasts two patented innovations: one to simplify the mechanism and the other to increase its precision.
